We were very happy to spend some time at Koyasan at the Sanbo In Temple. We have appreciated to discover a true and excellent vegetarian Japanese food. We spent also a good moment with you during the morning office. And globally the personnal was very friendly.

This is a small, beautiful temple. It was very peaceful and quiet. Our room was exactly as described, and the facilities were very clean. Our meals were lovely to the eye and so tasty. It was very special to participate in the morning service. I only wish that there had been more information about the history of the temple and the ability to ask questions and improve our understanding. This is a very special place - we are so glad that we were able to visit.

Shojoshin-in temple was beautiful, the atmosphere is very quite and relaxing. Staying in this old building with so much history is a unique experience.Providing access to the bathroom in the morning would be a plus. Thank you for the stay!

The Kodai Inn in Koyasan is a peaceful and memorable place to stay, offering a real taste of traditional Japanese culture. The temple it’s part of is over 900 years old, originally founded in the 12th century and later rebuilt in the Edo period, keeping its deep spiritual roots intact. As a temple lodging, you sleep in a simple tatami room and enjoy beautifully prepared vegetarian meals (shojin ryori) that are both delicious and thoughtful. One of the most special parts of the stay is joining the monks for early morning prayers—calm, quiet, and really moving. The whole experience, from the food to the rituals, gives you a genuine feel for the spiritual life of Koyasan. It’s a unique and calming getaway that stays with you long after you leave
