Staying at the shukubo in Koyasan was truly a unique experience. Amazing temple with a very kind and welcoming staff. The food was delicious. The room was great, except the fuel heating which had a strong smell and did not look healthy to use.

It was the best experience that we live in japan ! The place was very clean and comfortable, dinner excuisite ! The temple and the room was like old japan… This is exactly the image and the experience that i was hoping to live in Japan ! The temple was so beautiful and a very good place to be ! Go for it ! You can’t be in japan and note live this experience !

We are delighted with the management that Koyasan Subuko did for us in finding a temple to spend a night. We stayed at the Sanbo-in temple. We liked it a lot, we found it to be a very welcoming, simple and friendly community, with beautiful facilities. We were very comfortable, we liked the food, the onsen, the garden and we participated in the incense prayer. We are very happy with our stay at the temple. Arigato gozaimasu.

Our assigned stay is at Muryoko-in Temple. The place was under renovation, the garden was not well-maintained, and the inner place looked disorganized and dated. There was no clear instruction on how to get into the parking compound to check in. The facility lacked amenities, and the sandals were uncomfortable. The meals were chilled, and the food quality could be better. The futon base was thin and uncomfortable. Since only cash is accepted, a large sum of cash had to be carried just to pay for the stay. On our 18-day trip, this was the most disappointing visit.
