We did the reservation on the Website of the Koyasan-Shukubo official booking site. They suggested the sanbo-in temple to us. It was a great experience. Everything in the temple-lodging was fine. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, the room big and clean. The onsen was restful after the walk in koyasan and the mountains. We were invited to visit and join the morning-prayer. It was a really great experience. We like to thank the monks of the temple.

Phantastic stay in Kodai-in temple. We had a big room with a view to the Zen garden and trees in autumn colours. Breakfast and dinner was excellent, the bath impeccably clean. The Buddhist hall with its 900 years old Buddha is simply stunning. Such a special place, Koyasan, and we were lucky to have found Kodai in. I wish the family all the best. Petra from Germany

Amazing temple with a very kind and welcoming staff. The food was delicious. The room was great, except the fuel heating which had a strong smell and did not look healthy to use.

We stayed for 2 nights, and although sleeping on a tatami was a little bit hard for our old western backs, the overall experience was worth the try. The atmosphere, both in Koyasan and in the monastery, the morning buddhist ceremony, the delicious veggie meals, the kindness of staff (they provided us with 2 chairs as we were unable to sit down on the ground) made it unforgettable.
